SCOTUS Rules in Favor of Same-Sex Marriage

In what has been a historic attack on the constitutional foundation of our country and the historic definition of marriage, the Supreme Court has ruled to allow same-sex couples to marry. The societal consequences will forever now undermine the building blocks of our civilization. This is completely unacceptable and the magnitude of this decision will be experienced for many years to come. By allowing a distorted human behavior to be considered a civil right, the rogue judicial activism of the Supreme Court has also opened the flood gates to undermining religious freedom and freedom of speech. State and Federal Courts have too often taken the law into their own hands to twist our Constitution. We maintain that judges should follow the law and not legislate from the bench.

Since 1991, Citizens for Traditional Values (CTV) along with the CTV PAC have been fighting to maintain the fundamental values that were established by our founding fathers. In fact, CTV was one of the leading organizations supporting traditional marriage by helping pass the Michigan Marriage Amendment in 2004. And now, in a narrow decision, the Supreme Court has negated the will of millions of Michigan voters.

Where do we go from here? CTV is steadfastly dedicated to continuing our support for rule of law judges and candidates who adhere to the legitimate definition of marriage. This is especially important in choosing the next President, who will appoint future Supreme Court Justices. We will continue to fight and do whatever we can to assist in the repealing of this unjust Supreme Court decision.

We urge you to continue to pray for our nation and those who are serving in public office. We must continue loving God, loving people and overcoming evil with good. Remember, God is still in complete control.

Sincerely,

Citizens for Traditional Values
